Strain development Developed by Kaori Denda and Tasturo Irimura, Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, The University of Tokyo. TT2 ES cells derived from B6CBAF1 were used to generate the knockout mice. RBRC01889: backcrossed to C57BL/6J. RBRC01890: BALB/c semicongenic (BALB/c, C57BL/6 and BALB/c mixed).
Strain description Mgl1 gene knockout mice. Exons 2 to 10 were replaced with a PGK-neo and lacZ cassette. The MGL is one of the calcium-dependent (C type) lectins, which are intrinsic carbohydrate recognition proteins. C57BL/6 background (RBRC01889) and BALB/c mixed background (RBRC01890).
