Strain development eveloped by Kaori Denda and Tasturo Irimura, Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, The University of Tokyo. TT2 ES cells derived from B6CBAF1 were used to generate the knockout mice. The mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6J and BALB/c, respectively (RBRC01893 and RBRC01894).
Strain description Mgl2 gene knockout mice. Exon 2 of the Mgl2 was replaced with a PGK-neo cassette. The MGL is one of the calcium-dependent (C type) lectins, which are intrinsic carbohydrate recognition proteins. Homozygous mutant mice are viable and fertile. Under investigation (details unknown). C57BL/6 background (RBRC01893) and BALB/c background (RBRC01894).
