Strain development Developed by Masato Ikawa, Research Institute for Microbial Diseases, Osaka University in 1995. D3 ES cells derived from 129S2/SvPas were used. The mutant mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6.
Strain description Clgn, calmegin gene knockout mice. A neomycin selection cassette was inserted into the exon 2 of the Clgn gene. Homozygous mutant males were infertile.
