Strain descriptionAnimal model of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Develop spontaneous non insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM) with aging. Almost 100% in males and 20% in females exhibit diabetes mellitus at 48 weeks of age. NSY = Nagoya Shibata Yasuda.
