Strain development Developed by Katsuhiko Hayashi and Yasuhisa Matsui, Osaka Medical Center for Maternal and Child Health in 1995. A targeting vector containing the NLS-lacZ and a loxP-flanked PGFneo cassette was inserted into the initiation codon of exon 2, all of exons 3 to 6, and part of exon 7. The mutant mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6JJcl.
