Strain development Developed by Yoh Wada, Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research, Osaka University. An m Vam2-floxNeo allele, containing the FRT-loxP-Npt-FRT-loxP in intron 13, and the third loxP sequence in intron 17, was introduced into the mouse genome by R1 ES cell mediated gene replacement. The modified allele was converted to mVam- (Vps41<tm1Ywd>) by crossing with FLP and Cre mice (B6;SJL-Tg(ACTFLPe)9205Dym/J and FVB/N-Tg(EIIa-cre)C5379Lmgd/J). The mutant mice were cross to C57BL/6.
Strain description mVam2 (Vps41) knockout mice. Exons 14 to 18 of the mVam2 gene were removed. Homozygous mutant mice are embryonic lethal (E7.5-8.5).
