Strain development Developed by Takashi Iwamoto, College of Life and Health Sciences, Chubu University in 2010. The transgene was injected into the (C57BL/6 x BALB/c)F2 fertilized eggs. The mice were crossed to C57BL/6J over 5 generations.
Strain description Transgenic mice expressing miR-143 and miR-145 in cardiomyocytes. Their hearts generally show low %FS after 2 months old and become enlarged.

Tg mice show a high incidence of sudden death after 2-3 months old.
