Strain development Developed by Dr. Akiharu Kubo and Masayuki Amagai, Keio University School of Medicine in 2008. BA1 ES cells were used. The mutant mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6J by using speed congenic method (100 makers were replaced to C57BL/6 type). C57BL/6J background (RBRC05850), BALB/c (RBRC05851).
Strain description Flg, filaggrin gene knockout mice. The start codon in exon 2 and in-frame ATG sequences of exon 3 were replaced with a PGK-neo cassette. Homozygous mutant mice are viable, but exhibit dry scaly skin.
