Strain development Developed by Kazuo Tonami and Hiroki Kurihara, Graduate School of Medicine, The Tokyo University in 2004. Maintained by Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Medical Science. G4 ES cells were used. The mutant mice were crossed to C57BL/6 (RBRC06237) and ICR (RBRC06238).
Strain description Capn6 gene knockout mice. Exon 2 of Capn6 was replaced with a nls-lacZ/PGK-neo cassette. Capn6 deficient mice (homozygous females and hemizygous male) were viable, but display precocious development of embryonic skeletal muscle and promote the differentiation of skeletal muscle progenitors cells.
