TypeTargeted MutationCartagena
SpeciesMus musculus
Strain nameB6;129P2-Qk<tm1Imeg>/Rbrc
Former Common nameqkI Knockout mouse, TgH(qkI)2Imeg
H-2 Haplotype
ES Cell lineE14.1 [129P2/OlaHsd]
Background strainC57BL/6JJcl
Appearanceagouti
Strain developmentDeveloped by Kuniya Abe and Ken-ichi Yamamura, Insitute of Molecular Embryology and Genetics, Kumamoto University. E14.1 ES cells were used for generation of the knockout mice. The mutant mice were crossed to C57BL/6J.
Strain descriptionQk (quaking) gene knockout mice. The initiation codon and first 40 amino acids of a highly conserved QUA1 domain of Qk gene were replaced with an IRES and a betageo fusion gene. Homozygous mutant mice die in utero E9.5 and E10.5.
Colony maintenanceHeterozygote × Wild-type [C57BL/6JJcl]
