Strain development | Developed by Dr. Tetsuo Noda, Japanese Foundation for Cancer Research Cancer Institute at and Dr. Tadashi Yamamoto at the University of Tokyo in 1999. LacZ was inserted into Tob2 gene. The mutant mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6J. |
Strain description | B6.129S4-Tob2<tm1Tya>. Tob gene is a member of antiproliferative protein family which is a negative regulator BMP/Smad signaling in osteoblasts. Tob2 null mice are viable and appear normal. This strain is useful for elucidating of Tob gene function. |
Colony maintenance | Backcross to C57BL/6 (Heterozygote x C57BL/6JJcl) |
