Strain development Developed by Technical University of Munich, Irmgard Foerster. Deposited by Shigeo Koyasu, School of Medicine, Keio University through Akita University Graduate School of Medicine. E14 ES cells were used to generate the knock-in mice. The mice were crossed to C57BL/6 for several times, and then backcrossed to C57BL/6NTac and BALB/cAnN, respectively (RBRC02302 and RBRC02303).
Strain description Lyzs (Lyz2, lysozyme 2) Cre knock-in mice, known as the LysMcre mouse. A NLS-cre cDNA was inserted into the endogenous ATG start site of Lyz2 gene. LysMcre mice allow for both specific and highly efficient Cre-mediated deletion of loxP-flanked target genes in myeloid cells. C57BL/6 background (RBRC02302) and BALB/c background (RBRC02303).

Strain description Original line was established by Tak Mak at Ontario Cancer Institute in Tronto (Schmits et al., J. Exp. Med., 183, 1415, 1996). Neo registance gene construct was introduced into the CD11a allele of an ES cell line E14k of 129/Ola origin. Mutant ES cells were injected to C57BL/6 blastocysts. Chimeras were mated with C57BL/6 and was backcrossed to C57BL/6 for 6 generations. After embryo transfer at Taconic, the colony has been maintained through intercrossing of homozygous mice.
