A MC1-TK MC1-neo cassette of MafF KO (RBRC06305) and MafG KO (RBRC06306) mice was removed by crossing with Ayu1-cre mice. A PGK-neo cassette of MafK KO mice (RBRC06307) was removed by crossing with Ayu1-cre mice.
Strain description Small Maf protein genes knockout mice (MafF: RBRC06305, MafG: RBRC06306 and MafK: RBRC06307). Both MafF and MafK homozygous mutant mice show no obvious abnormality. MafG homozygous mutant mice exhibit impaired platelet formation accompanied by megakaryocyte proliferation, as well as mild behavioral abnormalities. MafF, MafG and MafK triple homozygous mutant mice are embryonic lethal (around E11.5).
