Strain description Pold1 (polymerase (DNA directed) D400A variant mutant mice lacking 3'-5'exonuclease activity in the Pol delta. About 30% of homozygous mutant mice die with abnormally swollen thymus. Most surviving mice develop nodules on their tails. It is preferable to avoid a mating using heterozygous male across continuous generations (2 generations and up) to avoid an increasing mutation rate.

Strain development Developed by Takeshi Yagi, Tsukuba Life Science Center, RIKEN in 1993. The targeting vector containing lacZ-neo cassette was transferred into TT2 ES cells to replace the SH1, SH3 and tyrosine kinase regions of the Fyn gene. The mutant mice were crossed to C57BL/6.
Strain description Fyn gene knockout mice. Fyn proto-oncogene is a non-receptor type tyrosine kinase of Src family that is expressed in the central nervous system and suggested to be involved in the mechanism of neuronal signaling cascade. Homozygous mutant mice exhibit a defect in suckling behavior and abnormal hippocampus morphology. This strain is useful for elucidation of the role of Fyn tyrosine kinase.

The RECIPIENT of BIOLOGICAL RESOURCE shall obtain a prior written consent on use of it from the DEPOSITOR.
If the RECIPIENT’s research results in an invention based on the BIOLOGICAL RESOURCE, the RECIPIENT must contact DEPOSITOR to negotiate. In publishing the research results to be obtained by use of the BIOLOGICAL RESOURCE, the RECIPIENT must obtain a prior written consent from the DEPOSITOR.
